Welcome to the Impact Marketing Club Code Of Conduct. This is a live and evolving document that intends to outline the expectations of our members, how we work together and to set out when there is a breach.

All participants in the The Impact Marketing Club are required to comply with the following Code of Conduct.

The Pledge

We commit to making our community a safe, positive experience for everyone, regardless of age (all members must be 18+), appearance, disability, ethnicity, gender identity and expression, level of experience, education or socio-economic status. We pledge to act and interact in ways that contribute to an open, welcoming, diverse, inclusive, and healthy community.


Who We Are

We are a community of impact-driven people who work in marketing.

We are all at different stages of our “impact journey” so we all have different experiences, levels of knowledge and have come from different backgrounds; but we’re aligned in making efforts to use our work as a force for good.

What we mean by ‘Impact Marketing’

Impact Definition: A net positive effect of activity on people, society and/or planet

Marketing Definition: Marketing is the activity, institutions, and processes for creating, communicating, delivering, and exchanging offerings that have value.

Whilst our vision for the future is that where impact marketing is just marketing; we welcome people from across the marketing spectrum, impact space and the ‘Impact Marketing’ venn diagram to come together to realise this.

We recognise that our vision and mission as a community can only succeed with voices from all areas.

Safe Space

We encourage discussion of sensitive and difficult topics so that we can support each other, help each other find solutions, and problem-solve together. Due to the sensitive nature of many of these discussions, please keep what is said in these spaces - whether online or in person - confidential unless you receive permission otherwise.

Be especially cognisant to avoid sharing identifying information, and remember that anything you do share is seen by thousands of people. Always ask the original poster or speaker if they would feel comfortable having their post or experience shared.

Zero Tolerance For Hate

We all play a role in establishing and promoting a positive, inclusive, and encouraging community.

Discussions, posts, messages, actions, or comments that promote hatred of any kind - including, but not limited to, racism, sexism, transphobia, homophobia, biphobia, queerphobia, ableism, and ageism - are not acceptable in the Impact Marketing Club community and may result in you being removed from online or in-person spaces.

Value Each Other

Many members of this community spend their precious and valuable time to give each other guidance, advice, introductions, etc. If someone does this for you, acknowledge their comments, take time to write back thank you to their private messages, and pay it forward when you can.

Constructive Challenging

We welcome constructive challenges to the ‘how’ but not the ‘why’.

What does this mean? We have a baseline belief in the group that leading, influencing and challenging ourselves towards positive impact is vital.

There are plenty of communities that discuss marketing more generally which may be better suited if you oppose this as a fundamental value driver.
